The current COVID-19 pandemic raises critical clinical questions and challenges for health professionals seeking to continue optimal care for patients with cancer. The MPCCC and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) present a special series of Cancer and COVID-19 education events.

How have Victorian cancer clinical trial participants been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic?

What unexpected opportunities have arisen for patients? What difficulties have clinical trial participants faced? Are there positives to come out of this that can be built on for the future?

Clinical trials are a critical element of progressive, evidence based cancer research and can provide access to cutting edge treatments for patients. This educational forum will explore the challenges and opportunities that metropolitan and regional trial participants are facing during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the measures and innovations that have helped to keep trials running through this period.

Professor Eva Segelov, Director of Oncology, Monash Health will moderate an interactive panel discussion about clinical trials during a healthcare crisis.
