Genetic testing for breast cancer susceptibility: is it time for population testing?

Dr Tu Nguyen-Dumont,

Head, Clinical Genomics Laboratory,  Precision Medicine,

School of Clinical Sciences, Monash Health, Monash University

Technological advances in the past 15 years have accelerated the impact of cancer susceptibility genomics research on clinical genetics practice. Several recent large-scale studies, including ours, have generated risk estimates that have improved the clinical utility of gene-panel testing for breast cancer predisposition. I will present the current status, clinical utility and future perspectives of genomic testing for breast cancer susceptibility.

In person (Seminar Room G19, 15 Innovation Walk, Clayton) or via zoom (ID: 839 5272 5754 / Passcode: 033189).

The Monash BDI and MPCCC have partnered together to deliver cancer seminars aimed at enhancing our focus for education and identifying opportunities for further research amplification via new collaboration.
